Your eyes open slowly to the sun streaking through the jungle into your bedroom.  The sound of waves crashing on the beach almost puts you back to sleep.  It’s too nice outside to stay in bed.  The sounds of the day call your name. There are things to do today, but they can wait.

Fresh coffee is made and your hammock slowly swings back and forth, rocking you into calmness as you read your favorite book and relax on your porch.  You hear the birds and monkeys playing in the trees calling out each other’s names. There are things to do today, but they can wait.

The water sounds so inviting. You put on your swimsuit and take a stroll down the path through the jungle.  Neighbors walk by waving and smiling. Everybody is moving at a pace that would make a sloth comfortable. The pristine beach opens up its arms and welcomes you in. Picture perfect, from the sand to the color and the temperature. You dive in. There are things to do today, but they can wait.

Dry off and walk up to Flip Flops, the beach bar with cold drinks and warm food.  Jerk chicken warms your belly as you rock back and forth in the breeze on the swing benches. Life has never been this relaxing. There are things to do today, but they can wait.

After getting back home, there is a note on your door from your neighbors: they are taking the boat out to Bird Island and Starfish Beach to go kayaking and snorkeling. Catch some fish on the way that would go good on the barbeque. There are things to do today, but they can wait.

The boat cuts through the waters as you pass giant cayucas, fishing boats and canoes. Everybody waves, everybody smiles. The engine goes up a notch as you head out to sea.  Adventure is around the corner. There are things to do today, but they can wait.

After the afternoon on the water you come back to your home. Back to your hammock and begin to fall asleep in the sunset wondering what it was you were supposed to do today. Your phone rings and it is the masseuse, reminding you of your appointment for sunset on the beach. You knew there was something you had to do today. You are on your way and you can’t wait.
